load are made from alloy steel. As an example, AISI 4340 is used to prevent fatigue, and the maximum stress the shaft may be under is 16,000 PSI however, the actual yield point of the material is 150,000 PSI. Fatigue and flexing is considered when the material is used in bridge or machinery building. The

Can ASTM A1018 be substituted for A529 or A572? - Jan 08, 2010 · Based on these tests he may then recertify the material from A1018 into an appropriate plate grade, in this case typically A572 Grade 55. While there is an SS grade available in A1018, there really isn't any equivalent plate standard that can be used. A529 is restricted to plates only up to 15" wide. A1018 coil is generally much wider than that.
Grades All Thread RodThere are three grades within this specification, 36, 55, or 105. These grade numbers represent the minimum yield strength (ksi) requirement of the anchor bolt. The bolts are color coded at the end that will project from the concrete to easily identify the grade used in the field (Grade 36:Blue, Grade 55:Yellow, Grade 105:Red).

Intermediate Strain-Rate Testing of ASTM A992 and A572 Apr 19, 2019 · The mill test report (MTR) indicated that the plate also met the specifications of ASTM A709-50. ASTM A992 specimens were obtained from the web of domestic S12x31.8 beams, which had a nominal thickness of 0.35 in. The MTR for the A992 steel indicated the beam also met specifications of ASTM A6, A709-50, A572-50, and A36.

Apr 09, 2020 · I'm trying to decide if I want to use the plate steel that we get from our local mill, or if I need to buy specific steel just for the tests. We weld only A529 Grade 50 in our shop, and are qualified to D1.1. The steel plate we get from our mill is a multigrade. It has a mixture of A36, A529 gr 50, A572 gr 50, and A709 gr 36 & gr 50.
Speedy Metals Information for ASTM A572 Grade 50 PlateGrade 50 is used in general plate applications when the plate will be riveted, bolted, or welded. Grade 50 is a Columbium-Vanadium steel that offers a minimum yield of 50,000 PSI. In addition, ASTM A572 Grade 50 is noted for its increased resistance to atmospheric corrosion.
